Big Creek Travel’s roots started as a family business over three decades ago, and even as our agency continues to grow, we have never lost sight of what is most important: building relationships with our agents and providing them with the support they need to become successful. Our leadership team brings a strong and varied background including advanced education and entrepreneurial experience. Big Creek Travel’s owner, Lauren Schultheiss, grew up in the travel industry, learning from her mom who owned a brick and mortar travel agency for many years. She also spent over a decade in corporate management, working in contracts administration, finance and project management. She holds a paralegal certificate, a degree in Media Relations, an MBA, and an advanced marketing certificate. She completed ASTA’s Verified Travel Advisor program, which demonstrates a high level of verifiable professional knowledge. When you join Big Creek Travel, you can feel confident that you will be working with a company that provides you with solid administrative and marketing support so that you can focus on what’s most important to you.

We like to call ourselves a “boutique” host agency because our goal is not to compete with the large host agencies with thousands of agents but to create a customized experience for each of our agents. Certainly, the big agencies have their strengths, but when you’re embarking on your new adventure as a travel agent or changing agencies, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and become lost in the crowd if you don’t have someone you feel you can connect with.
