Lauren Schultheiss

Lauren Schultheiss is the Founder and CEO of Big Creek Travel and is proud to carry on the entrepreneurial traditions her mother started more than three decades ago.  Having grown up in the industry, Lauren developed a passion for travel from an early age.  She has traveled throughout the Caribbean and North America, visited her ancestral roots in New England and Scandinavia, sailed with nearly all of the major cruise lines, and counts St. Petersburg, Russia as one of the most fascinating and beautiful places she's visited so far.  She is an experienced travel agent; however, because of the level of expertise of her team of agents, her focus is primarily on the strategic operations of the agency.

As a travel executive, Lauren brings a strong business and marketing background to Big Creek Travel.  She spent over a decade working in senior management for a large corporation, holds a paralegal certificate, earned an MBA from Colorado State University and an advanced certificate in marketing from the University of Georgia, and has experience in contracts administration, purchasing, finance, and project management.  She believes in giving back to the community and has served on several local boards and has held several executive positions in local organizations.  She founded Big Creek Travel on the foundation of integrity, inclusion and innovation, and applies these values to every decision she makes.  She puts emphasis on providing educational opportunities and practical marketing support to her team of independent affiliates to help them grow their businesses.  She has also started an entrepreneurial program for agents new to the industry and those looking to move from agent to agency owner called Travel Success Map.

Lauren lives with her husband, Brian, and their two children in a northern suburb of Atlanta.  When she isn't traveling, Lauren enjoys cheering on the Atlanta sports teams, studying photography, working on genealogy, and reading mystery novels.
